Election 2016: After Iowa!

By Rich Kozlovich

Trump now claims Iowa was somehow stolen by Cruz and there needs to be another election.  Does anyone besides me think this is a cry baby whine from a spoiled brat used to getting his way by getting away with things for all of his life?   This, along with failing to debate everyone at the assigned location will impugn his chances, but he was going to fizzle out anyway and here's why.

Trump is the P.T. Barnum of politics.  He's got to have a platform to be bold and exciting and offer the public the entertainment they desire.  Let's face it - people aren't very bright, and that includes most conservatives.  All are easily swayed because even if their views of reality are conservative most of them don't read anything to any real degree in any depth.  They don't know how to think, and they want a razzle dazzle leader - and they love the mass hysteria that's driven the Trump crowd desparately wanting to "believe".  His was a secular religious movement - and that's emotion driven.  But all that emotion has to wan because it burns people out if you can't keep the show going - that's normal.

Now his stage is taken away - there's no more debates - if he can't show off - he can't keep up his antics and their attention - he will no longer be able to distract these people from who and what he is. Now he has to articulate what he wants to do and explain how and why he's going to do it, and he can't.   Make America Great Again is like Hope and Change.  Sounds great but what does it mean?

His whole schtick has been he's a successful businessman who knows how to make deals.  But a great many of his deals went south losing hundreds of millions of investor's dollars while he walked away largely unscathed.  His protestations that he never personally declared bankruptcy is a logical fallacy and I'm sure must have inflamed all those who lost huge sums of money placed in his hands.  That schtick will now come back to haunt him.  He is no more a conservative than Hillary.  He's an elitist insider who is a totally self-serving huckster who can no more be trusted than could Richard Nixon.  With Trump it's all about Trump  He has no mission except to promote Trump - that's been his life, and that hasn't changed!  Trump's cameleon like ability to "rise above principle" will not sustain him any longer!

I always predicted he would die out after Iowa, lose in New Hampshire, Nevada and after South Carolina he would be out - or for sure after Super Tuesday leaving Cruz and Rubio.  After Super Tuesday it will be Cruz.  Initially I thought Fiorina would be in the mix at the end but her campaign died much earlier than I thought.

Cruz is odd looking and has an odd way of speaking but he's absolutely brilliant and the only true conservative in the campaign.  Rubio is an articulate, knowledgeable and likable fraud who can only stand as a rock in the current for a short time.  He's a likable and guy as far as I can tell - a popular guy.  Popluarity means going along to get along.  Has his life experience been being a rock in the current?  I don't see that.   Furthermore, it seems to me he doesn't really believe in smaller government and he's immature.

All the candidates, including Rubio, will all now have to articulate their vision and none of them can because they don't really believe in smaller government except Cruz - and that's the theme he will articulate and they all will have to counter.

Now my prediction!

Those who are gone from the campaign have already or will support Rubio!  They are as far as I can tell - Graham, Huckabee, Ron Paul and Santorum. Those who will be gone after New Hampshire and support Rubio will be Bush, Carson, Christie and Kasich.  With the possible exception of Carson, none of whom are true conservatives, including Paul who isn't really such an outsider in the Senate as many believe since he consistantly supports McConnell in votes he should be gagging over.   Those who have already or will support Cruz are Jindal, Perry and Walker.  This will expose the false conservatives in the party, which is a false conservative party.

There's a reason the Republican party is called the dumb party.  Because they publically claim to be a party of conservatives supporting conservative visions while actually supporting bigger government.   When there's that much cognitive dissonance in a group they're bound to be stupid.

As for Hillary and Sanders.

I still think Hillary's scandals will catch up to her and even if the Justice Department refuses to indict, or cuts a slap on the wrist deal - it will be admission of guilt, but the back room boys will want her in to the end, even if Sanders wins the primaries so they can wrangle a brokered convention and put in Gore, Biden, Warren or someone not as corrupt or a crazy as the two current candidates.
