GOP to attack climate pact at home and abroad - An aide to Mitch McConnell has been informing foreign embassies about GOP plans to oppose Obama's strategy on global warming. Top Republican lawmakers are planning a wide-ranging offensive — including outreach to foreign officials by Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell's office — to undermine President Barack Obama's hopes of reaching an international climate change agreement that would cement his environmental legacy. The GOP strategy, emerging after months of quiet discussions, includes sowing doubts about Obama's climate policies at home and abroad, trying to block key environmental regulations in Congress, and challenging the legitimacy of the president's attempts to craft a global agreement without submitting a treaty to the Senate...

Models,  IPCC Predictions Get Less Accurate Over Time - Climate models consistently fail to accurately track actual temperature measurements. Satellites provide the most rigorous, comprehensive data on global temperatures, closely corresponding to four sets of direct temperature measurements from weather balloons. While the satellite and weather balloon measurements largely agree, there is a wide disparity between the measured temperatures and model projections รข€“ a disparity that is increasing over time.   Satellites and weather balloon data show no upward trend in temperatures for nearly 20 years, despite a more than 5 percent increase atmospheric carbon dioxide.
