Vegetarians may
have a lower BMI and drink alcohol sparingly, but vegetarian diets are tied to
generally poorer health, poorer quality of life and a higher need for health
care than their meat-eating counterparts.
A new study from
the Medical University of Graz in Austria finds that vegetarians
are more physically active, drink less alcohol and smoke less tobacco than
those who consume meat in their diets. Vegetarians also have a higher
socioeconomic status and a lower body mass index. But the vegetarian diet —
characterized by a low consumption of saturated fats and cholesterol that
includes increased intake of fruits, vegetables and whole-grain products —

My Take - For the most part, I
don't care what people eat. That's the difference between conservatives and
leftists. If I want to be a vegan I will. If a leftist wants to be a vegan then
"everyone" must. What we need is a little clarity.
We wouldn’t even be having this discussion if American
agriculture wasn't so successful. And it's so successful because of adopting
Norman Borlaug's Green Revolution outline of high use of pesticides, synthetic
fertilizers and high yield variaties - and genetically modified plants - which
the leftists hate. If we were starving, as so many cultures are, we would
probably hunt these people down and throw them into jail for intrinsic
stupidity.
One more thing. I never quite got it on the pronunciation
of vegan. I went about saying v'a'gan long 'a'. I was always corrected by
vegans. They pronounce it v'e'gan long 'e'. I thought ... who cares? Then I
realized the importance of that difference. Va-(long 'a') just might be a
variation describing someone from Venus, or even the star system Vega, and
...perhaps......just perhaps .....this alternative pronunciation is a
deliberate effort to disguise aliens from outer space who are here as agents of
their planet promoting policies that are detrimental to humanity as a prelude
to invasion? Sound a bit loony? Of couse, but I wanted to get into the spirit
of this thing with the veeeeeeegans, and their ‘all natural’ crowd. Loony!
